The UMM Forestry Study Program succeeded in sending students outside Java Island to take part in regular internships which were held for the period 3 August 2022 - 17 November 2022. This regular internship activity aims to train students' abilities to become individuals who are ready for the world of work, independent, able to solve problems, and make decisions at work. Regular internship activities are a new program launched by the UMM Forestry Study Program to implement the information in lectures.
The UMM Forestry Study Program cooperates with large agencies such as PBPH PT. Sari Bumi Kusuma, PBPH PT. Equatorial Ecosystem Lestari, PT Tanjung Redep, and PT. Indonesian Forest Floor (Forest Floor). This internship activity was well responded by the agency to contribute to those concerned in adjusting information from the lecture bench to the field. Regular apprenticeship activities are expected to become an ongoing program implemented by the UMM Forestry Study Program.
"Yudhi Hendro, S.Hut (60 years) as the Head of the Planning Section of PT Sari Bumi Kusuma's PBPH said that it is necessary for activities like this to support information for students and for related agencies. Today students are required to be able to find out information directly from the world of work so that later they have the readiness to go to the next level. As academics, students are required to be able to think critically in analyzing all activities that have been carried out while in the field. Are there fundamental differences from an academic point of view with forest concessionaires?”
Tria Wahidiah (21 years) said that, Regular internship activities are very good to be carried out in the next period. Regular internship activities provide good benefits to know the ability of students to gain real work experience related to certain knowledge and expertise from the agency/institution where students carry out activities.
