News of proud achievements came again from one of the students from the Food Technology Department of the Faculty of Agriculture-Animal Science, Muhammadiyah University of Malang. This is because Ikri Matus Sa'diah (2020) successfully passed the selection of the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global Ugrad) program which is currently running the student exchange program in the United States. According to the explanation of Ikri Matus Sa'diah (2020) the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD) is a student program that covers the international level, this program is a student exchange program to America sponsored by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
The Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD) will run for one semester and this program has collaborated with 60+ countries. The purpose of the Global UGRAD program is of course to increase cross-cultural understanding or cultural understanding between America and other countries considering that there will be students from various countries studying in America through this Global UGRAD scholarship program. "Indonesian students who want to participate in Global UGRAD can register with the American Indonesian Exchange Foundation (AMINEF) and later AMINEF will forward the information to those who take care of it in America. So it's like AMINEF is an intermediary institution that connects applicants from Indonesia with scholarship providers in America, "said Ikri Matus Sa'diah (2020).
Ikri Matus Sa'diah (2020) said that in America she will study at Missouri State University located in Springfield, Missouri. The courses she takes will still be related to Food Technology, but she is also required to take courses that learn about America such as history. In addition to lectures and learning in class, there she will also do volunteer activities which is also one of the series that must be passed when we qualify for this program. Students who qualify for Global UGRAD are required to undertake volunteer activities for at least 20 hours per semester, the volunteer activities themselves can be on campus or off campus.
