MESSAGE FROM DEAN

In this era of globalization, there are at least 5 major problems faced, namely population, food security, energy and ecological crises (environmental damage), and global warming. The development of agriculture, animal science, fisheries, forestry, product processing technology and agribusiness will play a very important role in eliminating these problems. This condition means that recently and, in the future, agriculture is not only a provider of food, but also a source of renewable energy, as a deterrent to environmental damage and plays an important role in preventing global warming.

Recently, it has also been seen that agricultural, livestock, fishery and forestry commodities have a very significant demand trend, so that the value of these commodities is always increasing, both at the national and international levels. The multilateral world free trade that will be implemented in 2020 requires high product quality. This shows future agricultural trends that will be more dynamic in the future. To deal with these conditions, professional, adaptive and entrepreneurial experts are needed. Thus, a qualified community is able to lead agricultural development to improve the national economics.

To anticipate these developments, it is impossible for a competitive agricultural business to grow without a proven study. The Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Science has a very strategic role in creating competitive businesses in the fields of agriculture, animal science, fisheries and forestry, such as genetic technology, biotechnology, food processing technology, and competitive marketing technology.

Faculty of Agriculture-Animal Science, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) as a higher education institution that is concerned with the development of science and technology. The support of teaching staff who are professional in their fields and various adequate laboratory facilities are ready to produce. competent and professional graduates. This condition is also supported by the location of the Faculty in Malang City, East Java, which has a cool climate and agroecologists who support agriculture, animal science, fisheries and forestry.
