Human resources (HR) for the shrimp farming industry is currently still very lacking. Therefore, job opportunities in this field are very promising. Especially for undergraduate graduates who have knowledge and experience in this industry. This was conveyed by the principal of the Professional Aquaculture Training (PACT) program, Ir. Firmansyah, M.Sc. in the Open Recruitment activity in collaboration with the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) and PACT PT. Proteina Prima (CP Prima) Tbk. The selection which was held on Monday (15/8) was intended for prospective graduates and graduates from the shrimp professional class of the UMM aquaculture study program.
Since the signing of the cooperation between the two last April, UMM and CP Prima have continued to carry out activities. One of them is open recruitment which has entered this second batch. Firman explained that there are two stages of selection in the form of training that applicants will go through. First, applicants will enter an in-class training (ICT) program for two weeks and will learn about shrimp farming theory which consists of 22 syllabi. Then it was followed by an on-job training (OJT) program for six months to fieldwork as a technician candidate who would be monitored every day.
“The cost of the training process for all applicants will be borne by the company and they will also receive an allowance. In addition, applicants who pass will immediately sign a contract with the company and be accepted as a technician to work immediately, "said Firman.
Furthermore, Firman explained that in this recruitment, the company only accepted 25 applicants from all universities that had collaborated with the company. However, the company itself does not limit the number of applicants who will be accepted from each university. So it is not impossible if later many applicants from the white campus can pass and be accepted at the PT. CP Prima.
“I hope that graduates from UMM can be widely accepted and have a high commitment. Because in this program what we are looking for are people who are passionate, honest, disciplined, responsible, and serious about working in this industry,” said Firman.
Finally, Firman thanked UMM White Campus for preparing graduates who had more value. Especially with the existence of a shrimp school that provides many positive things for students. He hopes that cooperation and trust between the two can continue and provide benefits to each party.
On the other hand, the Head of UMM Center of Excellence, Dr. Ir. Damat, M.P also expressed his gratitude to the recruitment team of PT. PC Prima because they want to recruit new staff from UMM alumni. He also advised the applicants to take this opportunity as well as possible.
"It should also be remembered that when you are accepted, you will not only bring your good name but also the good name of your alma mater. Take good care of this trust and trust," said Damat. (zak/wil)
