As part of the Summer Course Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Science (SCFAAS) 2024 program, the Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Science (FPP) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) held an online lecture titled "Agrocomplex Innovative" for foreign students participating in the program. This event aims to provide insights and a deeper understanding of innovations in the field of agrocomplex, which will serve as important knowledge for participants throughout the SCFAAS activities.
The lecturers for this course are faculty members from FPP UMM representing various study programs. The lectures were held over two days, starting on October 16, 2024, with the first speaker, Dr. Ir. Wahono, M.T., from the Agrotechnology Study Program. He presented on "The Role of Agrotechnology in the Complexity of Developing Innovations," explaining the significant contributions of agrotechnology to the advancement of modern agricultural innovations.
The second session featured Dr. Tatag Muttaqin, S.Hut., M.Sc., from the Forestry Study Program, who discussed "The Impact of Climate Change and the Role of Forestry in Addressing the Climate Crisis." Dr. Tatag emphasized the urgency of forestry in facing the increasingly critical changes in climate, as well as the role of innovations in forestry technology in mitigating their impacts.
The day's lectures continued with a presentation by Prof. Dr. Ir. Damat, M.P., from the Food Technology Study Program. He addressed "The Role of Food Technology in the Production of Halal and Good Food," highlighting the importance of food technology in ensuring the safety and halal status of food products. The first day concluded with insights from Prof. Dr. Ir. Rahayu Relawati, M.M., from the Agribusiness Study Program, who provided an overview of "Agribusiness Development in Indonesia," particularly in facing global market challenges.
On the second day, October 17, the lectures began with material from Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Wahyudi, M.Kes., IPU, from the Animal-Science Study Program, who explained "Silage Technology for Ruminant Feed." This technology is an important innovation for providing quality feed for livestock. The final presentation was given by Dr. Ir. David Herrnawan, M.P., IPM, from the Aquaculture Study Program, who discussed "The Potential of Aquaculture in Indonesia," focusing on technological developments and the significant prospects of the aquaculture industry.
The enthusiasm of the students, both foreign participants and FPP students, was high throughout the sessions. They actively asked questions and engaged in discussions, demonstrating a deep interest in each topic covered. This event is expected to provide participants with a foundational understanding of developments and innovations in Agrotechnology, Animal Science, Fisheries, Agribusiness, Food technology, and Forestry, all of which are highly relevant in today’s global context.
