Dwi Syanti Wirandhani, STP, the best graduate of FAAS, 3.5 years of study without a thesis

Independent Campus is a manifestation of autonomous and flexible learning in higher education so as to create a learning culture that is innovative, unfettered, and in accordance with student needs. This program is used by Dwi Syanti Wirandhani, a student of Food Technology, Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Science (FAAS) to develop their skills and competencies. The student who was born in Samarinda, 22 years ago, took one of the Independent Campus Program (called Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka/MBKM in Indoneisa) in the form of Village Empowerment Development (called Pengembangan Pemberdayaan Desa/P3D in Indonesia) by starting a coffee village in Taji Village, Malang Regency. Not only that, Syanti, as she is known, is also a participant in the 2021 National Student Scientific Week (called Pekan Ilmiah Mahasiswa Nasional/PIMNAS in Indonesia) 34th year 2021.

From these two activities, students who graduated on March 24, 2022, became the best graduates of FAAS in the first period with a study period of 3.5 years without a thesis. This is because the MBKM and PIMNAS programs taken are converted into thesis. This conversion system is indeed regulated in these two activities. According to Syanti, both P3D and PIMNAS activities provide valuable experiences. “This PIMNAS taught me about technical research in the lab, time management, conflict, emotion. So that hard skills and soft skills are honed,” she said. While the P3D activities that he participated in focused on assisting and managing the legality of products typical of Taji Village such as Home Industry Production Number and the Halal Assurance System Manual, to building educational tours. "This P3D activity taught me how to really socialize," she added.

After graduating from the Food Technology Study Program, this best graduate student plans to continue the cake business that she started when taking the Agropreneurship course. Syanti hopes that the Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Science, especially the Food Technology study program, will be superior with more adequate facilities and infrastructure, and be able to print students to always excel both academically and non-academicly.
