Five students of the Faculty of Agriculture-Animal Science who are members of the Student Service for Society (called PMM in Bahasa Indonesia) 56 carried out socialization activities with the theme TSAH Food. TSAH itself stands for Thoyyib, Sehat, Aman and Halal in Bahasa Indonesia (Nutritious, Healthy, Safe and Halal in English) . This socialization aims to educate the people of Genengan, Girimoyo Village, Karangploso District, Malang Regency in order to increase public awareness of the importance of selecting and sorting food to be consumed. This is an effort to directly practice knowledge in the community from them who are students of the Food Technology Study Program.

The door-to-door socialization method was chosen considering the pandemic condition. "This method is expected to minimize mass accumulation as a form of health protocol", said Nellyn Rahayu Andira, a member of the PMM 56 team. Meanwhile, the socialization media in the form of printed posters was chosen because it is easier to carry and easier to read by all people. The poster displays the benefits of consuming Halal food from a religious and scientific perspective, examples of cases of Halal and Thoyyib food, examples of cases of Healthy and Safe food, and requirements for Halal food.

The TSAH Food socialization run well and welcomed by the people there. One of the residents, Luluk, said that paying attention to halal food is necessary and important. "Thank you for the socialization, I just found out that there is a brush made of pig bristles, because it looks like pigs don't have bristles", Mukti said. The responses of residents who received TSAH Food socialization agree that TSAH Food consumption is important and needs to be considered. (RAN/hum)
