SRAGI VILLAGE, BLITAR — Sragi Village launched the village's superior product in collaboration with the University of Muhammadiyah Malang through PPK Ormawa Himatekpa. This product launching activity was carried out on Sunday (05/2/2023) in Sragi Village, Kec. Talun, Kab. Blitar. This product launching activity was attended by Mr. Nurhadi as a member of Commission IX DPR RI, Mr. Dr. Ir. Aris Winaya, M.M., M.Sc. as the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry of UMM, and Mrs. Vritta Amroini Wahyudi, S.Si, M.Sc. as a UMM Food Technology Lecturer.
The launching event for the corn hair tea instant drink "Palawidja" was carried out by holding a healthy walk to enliven the launching of the village's superior product. In addition to enlivening the launching event, the Head of Sragi Village, Ms. Leny Puji Astuti, S. Psi also held a healthy walk to introduce her village's superior product, namely the product "Palawidja" a teabag drink made from corn silk. This superior product of Sragi Village has the advantage of containing antioxidants which are good for the health of the body.
The Sragi Village Government received great support from Mr. Nurhadi as a Member of Commission IX of the Indonesian Parliament in organizing this activity. He also attended this event and donated assistance in the form of a cow as an additional gift for the residents of Sragi Village who participated in the healthy walk. He gave this assistance with the hope that it would be a form of encouragement for all Sragi Village residents who took part in enlivening the healthy walking event in the context of launching the "Palawidja" product. Mr. Nurhadi appreciates the event held by the Sragi Village Government because he stated that he fully agrees to support small and micro-entrepreneurs in developing their products, especially those under the auspices of BUMDES.
UMM FPP Food Technology lecturer, Vritta Amroini, who was the head of the research team, explained that East Java is the largest corn-producing area in Indonesia.
"Seeing the great potential of corn in this area of East Java. It's a good idea for us to use corn to produce products that have use value. Then, we produce corn silk tea which is rich in antioxidants.” Says Vritta Amroini
According to the UMM Food Technology Lecturer who is familiarly called, Vritta, he also explained that corn silk is a functional food group because if consumed it can facilitate the process of cell regeneration so that they stay young, prevent cancer, tumors, and many other benefits. He also expressed his hope that in the future the superior product of "Palawidja" village could continue to be developed by BUMDES Sragi, and could be disseminated further so that it would be in demand and known by the wider community.
